Job Summary:
The Independent Subcontractor is tasked with, but not limited to, recruiting and enlisting Independent Subcontractor Truckers to assist in delivering materials to various job and plant sites. The position works closely with the Independent Subcontractor Manager. The Trucker Supervisor will assist the Manager in maintaining records of Independent Truckers' documentation, such as valid Driver’s Licenses, contracts, and insurance coverage. This role also works closely with Materials Dispatch to schedule the necessary number and types of trucks for future deliveries to job sites and plants. The Trucker Supervisor will collaborate with the Field Representatives Manager and Superintendent to ensure that job sites are safe and ready for material deliveries. The Supervisor will manage the schedules of all Independent Truckers for deliveries and work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate freight payments to drivers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manage all documentation related to contracting Independent Truckers, including up-to-date Certificates of Insurance, Driver’s Licenses, and contracts.
· Coordinate daily with dispatch to meet delivery demands to various job sites and plants.
· Ensure that all tickets and freight rates are accurately priced for payments to Truckers.
· Ensure all Truckers are familiar with job site locations and adhere to safe driving practices at all locations.
· Work closely with Job Production Managers to deliver materials to various locations for production.
· Be available during off-hours via company-provided phone, text, or email.
· Take initiative in resolving daily issues and manage the dispatch department and other dispatchers.
· Perform any other duties related to the management of Independent Truckers as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Advanced understanding of dispatch operations and driver scheduling processes.
· Ability to work independently and make decisions to resolve issues effectively.
· Strong leadership skills to manage departmental operations and other dispatchers.
· Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.
Fully Bi-lingual
Education and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Valid driver’s license required.
· Previous experience in dispatch or a related field preferred.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
· Generally, a 40-hour workweek, with the possibility of extended hours and flexibility in scheduling.
Pay: From $1.00 per hour
