Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal service efficiently during busy hours
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Contribute to a positive kitchen environment by demonstrating excellent knife skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven kitchen experience in restaurants or food service environments demonstrating strong food preparation skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with culinary practices such as cooking methods, meal preparation, and catering support
- Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Experience with menu planning or food industry operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to serve as an effective team player in a fast-paced setting
