Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment for the patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient take responsibility for personal action.
Education :
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from a formal surgical tech training program or 1 year of acute hospital surgical technician experience required.
- Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
Experience :
One year experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred
- Basic knowledge of scrub role
- Handling of instruments, set up, anticipates surgeons needs
- Knowledge of autoclaves
- Transporting patients
- Must be able to keep all information confidential.
- Must be dependable, adaptable to change and have good organizational skills.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
