Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients, assembling plates, and ensuring food safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area in compliance with safety standards in production and food handling regulations.
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels or equipment needs.
- Follow all safety procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Support catering events or food service operations as needed to ensure timely delivery of meals.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment demonstrating strong food industry knowledge.
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques is beneficial.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and proper food handling practices.
- Proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and general kitchen safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and serving customers.
