Position Overview
Plant-based Buyer Planner responsible for end-to-end planning, purchasing, and material flow for assigned product lines. This role ensures production stays on schedule by balancing supplier performance, inventory health, and shop capacity.
The position blends tactical execution with data-driven decision-making in a manufacturing environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Own planning and purchasing for assigned product lines
- Review customer orders, shop capacity, and historical data to build daily production plans
- Release purchase orders for production materials and floor stock
- Manage supplier relationships and day-to-day performance
- Expedite materials and resolve quality, quantity, delivery, and invoicing issues
- Set and maintain safety stock levels and Kanban sizing
- Monitor inventory health (min/max, slow-moving, scrap reduction)
- Use ERP/MRP systems to manage material flow
- Track and report supplier performance (OTD, quality, accuracy)
- Participate in Lean and cost-reduction initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functionally with manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, and customer service
Systems & Tools
Experience with:
- AS400 / Profound (preferred)
- BPCS / CIC / BPA
- MRP systems
- Mendix
- Qliksense
- Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Required Experience
- Associate’s Degree minimum
- 1–2+ years in Purchasing, Material Control, or Manufacturing Planning
- Manufacturing environment experience required
- Understanding of steel and rubber specifications and tolerances
- Knowledge of Country of Origin (COO) / AIS requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced plant environment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
