Human Resources Manager Job Description
Reports to: Firm Administrator
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of human resources practices and processes within the firm and in alignment with the Firm Administrator. This role supports employee relations, talent management, compliance, performance management, benefits administration, and workplace training.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters and HR inquiries.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Coordinate with Partners and Firm Administrator to identify staffing needs.
- Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent, working closely with Firm Administrator and HR Shareholder Committee.
- Manage relationships with recruiters, staffing agencies, and job boards as appropriate.
Performance Management & Employee Development
- Oversee performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives.
- Support firm management with coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Identify training and professional development opportunities for employees.
- Promote employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer employee benefits programs.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and employee communications.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and recommend salary adjustments as appropriate.
- Coordinate with finance and management teams to ensure accurate employee compensation.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, workplace safety standards, and company policies.
- Assist with audits, investigations, and employment-related reporting.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and unemployment matters.
- Monitor updates in employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Seek counsel from the firm’s contract employment attorney as appropriate, in coordination with Firm Administrator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience preferred, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

- Competitive salary based on experience: salary range is $130,000 to $160,000 annually
