This role is ideal for a high-performing Chiropractic Assistant who wants to grow beyond basic assisting and become a key clinical and financial liaison between doctor and patient.
Role Overview
As a Chiropractic Assistant at Hornback Chiropractic and Wellness, you will function as a clinical extender to the doctor—supporting therapies, documenting exams in real time, and progressively performing specific examinations and therapies independently under doctor direction.
You will also play a critical role in patient education and financial communication, confidently guiding patients through insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and care plan expectations—ensuring patients understand the value of care and remain committed to their treatment plan.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities & Therapeutic Services
In addition to assisting with chiropractic care, the Chriopractic Assistant will be directly responsible for administering a wide range of advanced therapeutic services at the direction of the doctors. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys active patient care, technical skill development, and clinical excellence.
Advanced Therapies Performed Under Doctor Direction
- Spinal Decompression Therapy – patient setup, parameter adjustment, monitoring tolerance and progress
- SoftWave Therapy – precise application, patient education, and outcome tracking
- Acupuncture Support – patient prep, room setup, post-treatment care and monitoring
- Cupping Therapy – application, timing, patient comfort, and education
- Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) – correct electrode placement and protocol execution
- Therapeutic Ultrasound – appropriate dosing, application, and safety compliance
- Spinal Rehabilitation & Corrective Exercises – instruction, supervision, progression, and documentation
Clinical Expectations
- Execute therapies safely, confidently, and efficiently
- Educate patients on therapy purpose, expectations, and benefits
- Monitor patient response and report relevant findings to the doctor
- Document all therapies accurately and in real time
- Maintain treatment rooms, equipment calibration, and clinical flow
- Progressively increase autonomy with demonstrated competence
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal Chiropractic Assistant is clinically engaged, detail-oriented, and confident, with the ability to move seamlessly between hands-on therapies, documentation, and patient communication.
- Comfortable delivering multiple modalities throughout the day
- Able to follow and execute detailed treatment protocols
- Strong clinical judgment and patient awareness
- Physically capable of assisting patients and performing therapies
- Motivated to master advanced therapeutic techniques

Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure precise, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Support accurate coding, treatment notes, and daily visit records
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and clinical integrity at all times
Patient Communication & Financial Confidence
- Clearly explain insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and patient financial responsibility
- Confidently present care plans and reinforce the doctor’s recommendations
- Address cost concerns without discounting care or undermining clinical necessity
- Lead patients through financial discussions in a calm, professional, solutions-focused manner
- Prevent treatment drop-off by helping patients understand the value and affordability of care
Practice & Team Support
- Support front-office coordination as needed to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to optimize clinic efficiency
- Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-focused environment

Preferred Experience
- Medical Assistant, Chiropractic Assistant, PT Tech, Certified Chiropractic Physicians Assistant, X-ray technologist or similar role
- Experience documenting exams and assisting with therapies
- Familiarity with insurance benefits and patient billing conversations
- Background in chiropractic, rehab, sports medicine, or orthopedic care
