Veterinary Assistant (VA): $19.00–$23.92/hour
Compensation is based on experience, education, skillset, and veterinary background.

As a Veterinary Assistant within Specialty Services, you'll support both patients and clinicians by:

Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments

Monitoring patient comfort and reporting changes in condition

Administering medications, treatments, and nursing care as directed

Collecting patient histories and maintaining accurate medical records
-
Performing in-house laboratory testing and specimen preparation
-
Preparing prescriptions and reviewing discharge instructions with clients
-
Assisting with advanced diagnostic procedures and imaging
-
Supporting patient preparation and recovery for procedures
-
Maintaining treatment areas and equipment
-
Providing exceptional client communication and education
-
Advocating for patient well-being throughout their hospital stay
-
Assisting with advanced imaging procedures including MRI, CT, radiology, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy

Supporting patients with neurological disorders and post-surgical recovery
-
Assisting with specialized neurological examinations and procedures
-
Supporting chemotherapy appointments and treatment administration
-
Monitoring oncology patients during treatments and procedures
-
Assisting with diagnostics, bloodwork, and long-term patient management
-
Building ongoing relationships with patients and families undergoing cancer treatment
Schedules vary based on department needs.
