Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiberglass/Gelcoat/Paint Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying fiberglass, gelcoat, and coatings to various products, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet strict industry standards. Your expertise will contribute to the production of durable, visually appealing components used across multiple sectors. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through proper sanding, cleaning, and surface preparation techniques specific to construction painting and finishing.
- Apply gelcoat and fiberglass layers using conventional spraying equipment, spray guns, or airless paint sprayers to achieve smooth, even coatings.
- Interpret production documents and blueprints accurately to ensure correct application procedures and specifications are met.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, cranes, and machining equipment efficiently for fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Conduct quality inspections by visual color comparison and measurement with precision instruments to verify coating consistency and finish quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards while handling powders, resins, and other hazardous materials responsibly.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, auto body repair, or auto painting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using basic math for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses and material quantities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as lean manufacturing principles and materials handling techniques.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment like forklifts, cranes, or other lifting devices is preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques including powder coating, construction painting surface preparation, and coating application methods.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and specifications accurately.
- Skilled in the use of visual color comparison tools and precision measuring instruments for quality assurance purposes.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
