Position Summary
LCP Home Services is seeking a dependable and experienced General Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair company vehicles and equipment. This position works primarily on light-duty trucks, mini excavators, trailers, and other general construction equipment. The ideal candidate has at least five years of mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and general repairs on light-duty trucks, mini excavators, trailers, and other company equipment.
- Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, and cooling-system issues.
- Perform oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, tune-ups, brake repairs, and other preventive maintenance.
- Mount, balance, repair, and replace tires using a tire machine.
- Diagnose and service vehicle air-conditioning systems using an A/C recovery and recharge machine.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify safety concerns or needed repairs.
- Respond to basic vehicle and equipment breakdowns as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Monitor parts, supplies, fluids, and shop inventory.
- Keep the shop, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow company safety procedures and properly handle automotive fluids and materials.
- Communicate repair needs, estimated completion times, and equipment concerns to management.
- Perform other fleet, facility, or equipment-related duties as assigned.
- Work on company trailers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of automotive, fleet, diesel, or equipment maintenance experience.
- Basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working on light-duty trucks and general construction equipment.
- Ability to safely operate a tire mounting and balancing machine.
- Ability to safely operate an automotive A/C recovery, evacuation, and recharge machine.
- Must provide or be familiar with using standard mechanic hand tools.
- Ability to read service manuals, maintenance schedules, and basic diagnostic information.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, employees, and vendors.
- ASE certifications, EPA Section 609 certification, or equipment repair training are preferred but not required.
- Must provide his/her own tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work underneath vehicles or equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work around grease, oil, fuel, fumes, dust, noise, and moving equipment.

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
