CEMETERY WORKER
DUTIES
Responsible for all aspects of funeral preparation including but not limited to grave locating, pinning, filling and seeding, foundation locating and digging, concrete preparation and finishing. Operates snowplow for road clearing in inclement weather. Maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds at cemeteries. Operates and performs routine maintenance on all equipment used by cemetery personnel. Works any shift, overtime, weekends and holidays as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; will consider applicants without diploma based upon experience demonstrating required abilities and skills. Must possess/maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have good working knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operation, dump truck operation and building and grounds maintenance. Must be able to operate hand and mechanical tools and equipment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Physical effort is regularly exerted for prolonged periods. Strain may be intense for frequent durations. Effort involves extensive bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting at least 60 to 80 pounds. Must possess good manual dexterity. In addition, must meet and/or perform all established physical requirements.
WORK CONDITIONS
Exposure to dust, grease, temperature, and inclement weather. Occasional exposure to hazardous working conditions including noise, slippery surfaces, and heights.
