Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team! Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems by interpreting blueprints, schematics, and system design documents, ensuring precise placement of sensors, control panels, and wiring.
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems during construction phases to verify adherence to specifications, NEC (National Electrical Code), and local safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on low voltage electrical components, sensors, and alarm panels to guarantee optimal system performance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, and field service equipment to modify or upgrade existing fire alarm infrastructure.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure fire alarm systems integrate seamlessly with other building systems such as sprinklers and mechanical controls.
- Document system configurations using schematics and technical drawings; prepare detailed reports on inspections, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Engage in fire alarm sales activities by providing technical expertise during client consultations or system upgrades to promote safety solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a related field such as construction inspection or service technician roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience focusing on low voltage systems and sensors.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and system design documents accurately; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code), fire sprinkler fitting standards, and construction practices related to fire safety systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment for system installation and troubleshooting.
- Excellent understanding of fire alarm components including sensors, control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Effective communication skills for working with clients, contractors, and team members; experience in alarm system sales or fire alarm sales is advantageous.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
