Job Description:
- Piano Instruction and Pedagogy: Deliver structured individual and group piano
instruction to students of various levels, utilizing advanced techniques such as score
deconstruction, phrase-mapping, and graded technique sequencing.
- Technical Development: Instruct students in touch refinement, controlled weight release,
rotational coordination, and voicing balance to ensure technical progress aligns with
musical structure.
- Curriculum and Lesson Planning: Design individualized lesson plans by analyzing
harmonic density, contrapuntal layering, and articulation requirements based on the
student's learning profile.
- Music Theory and Analysis: Teach fundamental and advanced music theory, including
the identification of modulation pivots, suspended resolutions, and cadential points prior
to execution.
- Repertoire Research and Selection: Research and select historically appropriate
repertoire, evaluating differences between various score editions to determine the best
fingering and articulation for student development.
- Student Evaluation and Progress Tracking: Conduct regular performance assessments
through recorded reviews and mock evaluations; maintain detailed progress logs tracking
articulation clarity and rhythmic consistency.
- Performance and Competition Preparation: Prepare students for recitals, exams, and
competitions by simulating performance conditions, teaching stage movement, and
providing error-recovery strategies for memory slips.
- Instructional Material Preparation: Compile targeted warm-up routines to address
specific technical issues like wrist stiffness or voicing imbalance.
Requires Master’s degree in Music Education, Piano Performance, Collaborative
Piano, or related fields and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
