POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier / Front Counter Attendant ($16/hr + Tips) is responsible for operating the point-of-sale (POS) register, taking guest orders, assembling and setting up to-go and pickup orders, and preparing beverages for all orders. This role is the primary point of contact for guests at the counter and plays a key part in speed of service, order accuracy, and the guest experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
POS & Cash Handling
- Operate the Toast POS terminal accurately for all guest transactions
- Process cash, credit, and mobile payments correctly
- Open, close, and reconcile the cash drawer at the start/end of each shift per house procedure
- Issue receipts and process refunds or voids according to company policy and manager approval
Order Taking
- Greet guests promptly and take accurate orders at the counter
- Answer questions about menu items, modifiers, and kosher status
- Enter orders correctly into the POS, including all modifiers and special requests
- Take phone and online/pickup orders as needed
To-Go / Pickup Order Setup
- Assemble and package all to-go and pickup orders accurately and neatly
- Verify order contents against the ticket before handoff to the guest or courier
- Label bags and containers correctly (guest name, order number, allergens where applicable)
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on order timing and pickup readiness
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare all beverages (fountain, bottled, specialty drinks) for dine-in, to-go, and pickup orders
- Follow recipes and specs for any prepared or blended drinks
- Maintain beverage station cleanliness, stocking, and organization throughout the shift
Kosher & Food Safety Compliance
- Follow all kashrut guidelines and instructions as directed by the on-site mashgiach at all times
- Do not bring outside food, drink, or non-kosher items behind the counter or into food-service areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
Customer Service & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized front counter and beverage station throughout the shift
- Provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to every guest
- Communicate proactively with kitchen and management on order flow and any issues
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior cashier, POS, or quick-service restaurant experience preferred
- Basic math and cash-handling accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Comfortable working under kosher supervision protocols (mashgiach oversight)
- Availability including weekends and peak meal periods [schedule details — TBD]
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Stand and move for the duration of the shift
- Lift and carry up to 25–30 lbs (supplies, stock, beverage cases)
- Repetitive hand motion (POS entry, beverage preparation, packaging)
Pay: $16.00 per hour
