Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a focus on heavy equipment and automotive diagnostics. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
- Conduct repairs on various types of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
- Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing all duties.
Skills
- Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with dealership experience is a plus.
- Proficient in the operation of heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with automotive repair including brake repair, shocks & struts, alignment, tire service, and assembly tasks.
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to vehicles is beneficial.
- Fabrication skills are an advantage for custom repairs or modifications.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs or maintenance tasks.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
