Nashville Logistics, LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Area Manager with a valid Class A CDL to oversee our Lakeland-area transportation operations.
This is a hands-on management position, not a desk-only role. The Area Manager will oversee drivers, dedicated routes, equipment, safety, compliance, and customer service. The ability and willingness to drive and cover routes when operationally necessary is an essential part of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support drivers assigned to the Lakeland area
- Ensure all scheduled routes are properly staffed and operating on time
- Drive and cover routes when necessary due to call-outs, vacations, staffing shortages, or other operational needs
- Coordinate driver coverage and resolve unexpected scheduling issues
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers, customers, and company leadership
- Monitor driver attendance, performance, safety, and professionalism
- Ensure proper ELD usage and Hours of Service compliance
- Coach drivers regarding safety and performance concerns and document corrective actions
- Monitor required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and service for trucks and trailers
- Monitor equipment condition and cleanliness
- Ensure required DOT documentation and equipment are current and properly maintained
- Assist with driver onboarding, training, and compliance requirements
- Respond to breakdowns, service issues, call-outs, and other operational problems
- Maintain strong customer relationships and promptly address service concerns
- Keep company leadership informed regarding staffing, equipment, safety, and operational concerns
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – REQUIRED
- Must be willing and able to operate a commercial vehicle and cover routes when needed
- Must meet company, DOT, and insurance driving requirements
- Previous transportation, trucking, fleet, dispatch, or logistics management experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage and hold drivers accountable
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions when unexpected problems arise
- Comfortable working both in an office environment and around trucks, trailers, and drivers in the field
- Must be dependable and responsive to operational needs

Our Area Managers play a critical role in keeping our dedicated transportation operations running safely and reliably. We need someone who will take ownership of the Lakeland operation, build a dependable team, maintain our equipment and standards, and step in behind the wheel when necessary.
This position is best suited for an experienced transportation professional who enjoys both leading drivers and being directly involved in the operation.
Full-Time Position
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
