Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health and substance abuse care to adult patients. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric and drug/alcohol assessments, including mental status examinations and diagnostic evaluations using EMR/EHR systems.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans.
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management for adult patients.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to extend mental health services remotely, enhancing access for underserved populations.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Participate in case management activities such as discharge planning, utilization review, and patient education to optimize outcomes.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience working with behavioral health populations in the outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, clinical research methodologies, and diagnostic coding systems like ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Strong communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Critical care experience or acute care background is highly desirable to manage complex cases effectively.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and basic life support procedures.
- Familiarity with telehealth technology platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services efficiently.
