Structural Welder/Fabricator
Suburban Steel Supply is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) structural and ornamental steel fabricator in Gahanna, Ohio. We've been in business since 1979, and our team owns the work, the outcomes, and the company.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Gahanna.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate a wide variety of structural steel products to customer spec at the fast pace day-order work demands
- Work from blueprints, drawings, and work orders, planning your own dimensions, layout, and material before you cut
- Cut, bend, weld, and grind structural steel to spec
- Set up and run shop equipment (welders, grinders, shears, saws, punches, torch, and notcher) following company safety and OSHA procedure
- Move between day-order jobs and the column area as the schedule demands
- Inspect your own work and other fabricators' work for quality
- Help train the fabricators coming up behind you
What You'll Bring
- Two or more years of experience as a welder/fabricator
- Completion of a formal welder training program
- Experience reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints and drawings (strongly preferred)
- Basic shop math, comfortable reading a tape measure
