Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Preventive Maintenance & Fleet Technician to support our trucking fleet, loaders, forklifts, piggyback forklifts, skid steers, and yard operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who can perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, welding, and repairs while ensuring all equipment and drivers remain safe, compliant, and operational.
This position includes occasional travel to West Virginia to service forklifts, loaders, and skid steers at other locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, loaders, forklifts, piggyback forklifts, and skid steers
- Maintain and service Wheel Loader – Caterpillar 908M
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems
- Perform welding and fabrication for equipment and yard repairs (MIG preferred)
- Ensure DOT compliance and maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Assist with keeping drivers compliant by supporting required training, certifications, and documentation
- Help track and coordinate driver safety and compliance requirements
- Coordinate routine inspections and scheduled servicing
- Serve as a substitute driver when needed
- Assist with loading, unloading, and equipment movement
- Perform general yard maintenance (gates, racks, fencing, tools)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized yard and shop environment
- Travel as needed to West Virginia for equipment maintenance and repairs
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in fleet, truck, and equipment maintenance
- Experience servicing loaders, forklifts, piggyback forklifts, and skid steers
- Welding experience (MIG preferred)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong safety awareness, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class A or B
- Forklift certification
- Experience in construction, stone yard, or material yard operations
