About the Role
Mercurys Coffee Co. is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse team and oversee the day-to-day operations that support our retail locations, wholesale customers, and Roastery.
This is a hands-on management position responsible for leading our warehouse staff while ensuring orders are accurate, inventory is organized, deliveries are on time, and the warehouse operates safely and efficiently.
We're looking for someone who knows how to lead a team, create accountability, stay organized, and improve processes. The right person will be comfortable managing people and priorities while also being willing to jump in and help the team when needed.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership & Management
- Manage, coach, and develop our Warehouse Leads and warehouse employees.
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for performance, accuracy, attendance, and productivity.
- Oversee employee training and development.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Hold regular meetings to review priorities, staffing, inventory, deliveries, and operational needs.
- Build a positive, organized, and accountable culture.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, product rotation, transfers, and deliveries.
- Establish daily and weekly priorities for warehouse staff.
- Ensure retail, wholesale, web, and internal orders are picked, packed, staged, and delivered accurately and on time.
- Monitor warehouse workflow and make adjustments to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure established warehouse procedures and standards are consistently followed.
- Jump in and assist with warehouse operations when needed.
Inventory Management
- Maintain overall accountability for warehouse inventory accuracy.
- Ensure inventory counts are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Ensure products are properly received, labeled, stored, organized, and rotated.
- Maintain FIFO inventory practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure product transfers between the warehouse, Roastery, third-party storage, and retail locations are accurately documented.
Scheduling & Labor Management
- Develop and oversee warehouse schedules based on workload and operational needs.
- Ensure appropriate staffing for receiving, order fulfillment, and deliveries.
- Monitor labor hours and overtime.
- Coordinate coverage for vacations, callouts, holidays, and other staffing needs.
- Adjust staffing and priorities as business needs change.
Receiving & Deliveries
- Oversee incoming shipments and ensure products are accurately received and stored.
- Coordinate receiving schedules and warehouse staffing.
- Oversee retail and wholesale delivery schedules.
- Ensure delivery vehicles are accurately and efficiently loaded.
- Resolve delivery shortages, errors, damaged products, and other distribution issues.
- Maintain strong communication with retail locations regarding deliveries and product availability.
Safety & Organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
- Ensure warehouse cleaning and organizational standards are consistently followed.
- Maintain clearly organized storage areas and product locations.
- Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and proper lifting and material-handling practices.
- Coordinate warehouse equipment and facility repairs when necessary.
Performance & Process Improvement
- Track key warehouse performance metrics, including order accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, labor hours, overtime, and product loss.
- Identify recurring errors, workflow bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop processes that improve productivity, organization, accuracy, and accountability.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations and Senior Management to continually improve warehouse performance.
What We're Looking For
- At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of warehouse supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing employees.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, receiving, order fulfillment, product rotation, and distribution.
- Experience with employee scheduling and labor management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, inventory systems, and other operational technology.
- Experience with purchasing, vendors, or supply chain coordination is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Ability to assist with loading, unloading, stocking, and other physical warehouse duties when needed.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment when properly trained or certified.
Compensation
$30.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience.
This is a full-time, hourly position with regular overtime opportunities.
Base pay at 40 hours per week is approximately $62,400–$66,560 per year, before overtime.
With regular overtime, total annual earnings may be higher depending on hours worked.
