Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of automotive systems.
Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, and transmission servicing to prevent breakdowns.
- Repair and replace hydraulic systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC components to ensure optimal performance of industrial equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques to assemble or repair machinery parts.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics and electrical wiring to identify faults accurately.
- Conduct alignment procedures and perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes or forklifts.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols during all repair activities.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems like Caterpillar or other brands.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
- Knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic system layouts.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, and tire service.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
