Salary: $15.00 per hour
Description:
The Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning vision is to build bridges to the community to create a more engaged campus, cultivate social responsibility, and develop a vibrant learning environment for UHD students. Our department is seeking student workers to place at off-campus nonprofit or government organizations for fall/spring semesters.
THIS IS AN OFF-CAMPUS OPPORTUNITY!
Duties:
- Students must have transportation to the job placement site.
- There are two types of positions that students may fill as participants in the program.
- Community Engagement Interns will hold placements within a local nonprofit in an area related to their academic major or specific interests.
- Generally, tutors will work in educational settings (schools or a non-profit) to help elementary school students better comprehend math, science, or reading.
- The tasks are to be determined and set by the nonprofit or government organization.
- Students are to represent UHD professionally and maintain all confidentiality policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current UHD student
- Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours
- Must have a work-study award from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
