Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and commercial vehicles with manual transmission to deliver goods across designated routes.
- Load and unload packages using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper stacking and securing of cargo.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring proper delivery procedures.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory movement, stock replenishment, and organizing shipments when not on deliveries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to lift heavy packages regularly and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting or moving items.
- Warehouse experience including familiarity with forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of route driving best practices along with excellent time management skills.
