Responsibilities
- Safely operate wheelchair-accessible vans, shuttle buses, or similar vehicles for scheduled transportation services
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Communicate clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers to coordinate routes and address any concerns promptly
- Load and unload mobility devices such as wheelchairs or scooters, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every shift to ensure passenger safety
- Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger details, and vehicle maintenance logs
Experience
- Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience preferred, especially within paratransit or commercial driving environments
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with bus or limousine driving is a plus
- Familiarity with <PERSON> driver requirements or similar specialized vehicle operation is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling mobility equipment safely
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure vehicle readiness
- Experience in customer service roles that require patience, empathy, and clear communication
