We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to join our clinical team.
Position Summary
The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) will provide substance use counseling services to adults receiving outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) treatment. The ideal candidate is passionate about recovery, committed to clinical excellence, and enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group substance use counseling.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Monitor client progress and assist with discharge planning.
- Provide relapse prevention education and psychoeducation groups.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Program Manager and other treatment team members.
- Maintain compliance with all state, Medicaid, and organizational documentation standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Active Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification.
- Ability to legally work in the United States.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of substance use treatment and recovery Notice
Applicants must possess an active Virginia CSAC credential at the time of application. Do not apply if you’re not a CSAC or CSAC supervise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing outpatient or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services.
- Experience with Medicaid documentation and ASAM Criteria.
- Familiarity with electronic health records.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
Schedule
- Flexible part-time hours.

Compensation
Starting at $25 per hour
