This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while supporting the daily operations of our pet care facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and monitoring animals throughout their stay
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular cleaning and disinfecting
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming as needed
- Support pet sitting duties by engaging with animals to ensure they feel comfortable and secure
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments when required
- Participate in outdoor work activities including walking dogs and cleaning outdoor enclosures
- Perform team lifting to safely move large or heavy animal supplies or equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal restraint and handling procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care needs and status updates
Requirements
- Previous experience in veterinary settings, kennel operations, or animal care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of pet grooming, dog training, and pet sitting is a plus
- Experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is advantageous
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs and other pets confidently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with outdoor work and kennel maintenance
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients and team members
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of energy and professionalism
- Prior experience in cleaning, animal restraint, and general pet care is desirable
