S & G Manufacturing is a metal fabrication and woodworking facility that builds custom and made-to-order furnishings and millwork for the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries. The General Labor position is assigned to the Metal Shop at the Hilliard facility.
General Description
Employees assigned to the Metal Fabrication area operate power hand tools such as drills, screw guns, staple guns, routers and orbital sanders to assemble wood fixtures such as cabinets, counters, condiment stands, trash cans, bars, and walls.
Our mission is to satisfy customers by safely, quickly, and accurately assembling wood fixtures. A General Laborer will assist other team members by preventing schedule backups and safely, quickly, and accurately assembling products.
Work Environment
Manufacturing shop environment with regular exposure to dust.
Work Schedule
Common work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Check equipment for working order and work area for safety.
- Read work orders (shop drawing), cut bill, and blueprints as needed.
- Operate hand and power tools (drills, screw guns, staple guns, routers, orbital sanders, tape measure, clamps, hammer, screwdrivers, wood chisels).
- Apply laminate & wood veneer to products.
- Assemble production and custom cabinets and fixtures.
- Maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
Education: high school diploma or GED; ability to read English
Experience:
- Ability to operate power hand tools
- Ability to read tape measure
- Shop drawing and blueprint reading
- Safety Awareness

- Decision Making
Physical Requirements
Regularly standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, repetitive hand and arm motion, repetitive grasping and seeing. Routine lifting up to 50 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment
Safety glasses and gloves are required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
