Position Summary: 9to5 Colorado is hiring canvassers to support our GOTV program to win progressive statewide revenue measures for the November 2026 election. The canvasser's primary role will be to build relationships with community leaders and get the campaign message out through direct voter contact. The canvasser will support 9to5’s revenue campaign plan and GOTV activities. Individuals with a commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities:
- Canvass registered voters through door to door knocking, tabling events, phone and text banking in priority geographies
- Engage and educate community members and voters around voter rights and GOTV
- Collect new contacts and membership sign ups as appropriate
- Inputting data from surveys, petitions, postcards, and VAN contacts into 9to5 membership database and other tracking systems
- Support in carrying out outreach and campaign strategies
- Turning out and registering members to virtual and in-person events
- Other responsibilities that may arise within a reasonable scope of work
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year canvassing experience
- A valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation
- Attend all trainings
- Must be a self starter
- Must be available to work weekday evenings and weekends
- Must have access to a phone, video conferencing capabilities, stable internet connection, Google Workspace, Zoom, and other software as the need arises
- Familiar with voter engagement tools
- Must be able to operate independently in addition to working with a team in a campaign setting
- Enthusiastic about social justice
- Deep understanding and commitment to racial, gender and economic justice
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Ability to respond to a rapidly changing political environment and field program
Preferred Qualification:
- English/Spanish Bi-lingual candidates who are proficient in reading, writing and speaking in both languages will be highly considered.
Details & Compensation:
This is a part-time position that will begin September 1, 2026 until November 6, 2026 with the potential opportunity to extend the position based on organizational need.
$20 hourly wage, 1 hour of sick time is accrued for every 30 hours worked, and monthly phone and travel stipends.
