Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, interpret schematics and blueprints, and utilize a wide range of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring on commercial and industrial construction sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Ensure all work adheres to NEC standards, safety protocols, and local building codes during installation and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless execution of electrical tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems during renovation projects to identify potential hazards or deficiencies.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical work. 1 year Miminum.
- Extensive hands-on experience with low voltage and high voltage wiring systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical installations.
- Familiarity with NEC standards, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting techniques using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools like drills and saws efficiently.
- Strong handyman skills including frame carpentry or general renovation experience are a plus.
- Communicate and collaborate with co-workers and clients efficiently.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
