Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and manual handling practices
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts to assist with transfers safely and effectively
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized care
- Proficiency in assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient monitoring techniques
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when required
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
