Overview
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and safety-minded Van Driver to support our field canvassing program. This position is the backbone of our daily field operations, balancing safe driving with sharp logistical coordination.
You will be responsible for transporting our team of canvassers to and from targeted neighborhoods and keeping them on schedule throughout the day. Your ultimate metric of success is simple: keeping our field team moving safely and efficiently so they can focus on maximizing their time connecting with homeowners.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour
- Vehicle Provided: Full use of a company van during working hours (gas and maintenance covered by the company).
- Consistent Schedule: Daytime hours with a structured daily route.
Key Responsibilities
Field Logistics & Transportation:
- Safe Team Transport: Safely and efficiently drive the canvassing team to designated territories, managing multiple drop-offs and pick-ups throughout the day.
- Route Navigation: Utilize GPS and mapping tools to navigate local neighborhoods effectively, avoiding heavy traffic delays to maximize the team's time on the ground.
- Schedule Maintenance: Adhere to strict daily timelines, ensuring the team arrives at their designated zones on time and is picked up promptly at the end of their shifts.
- Team Communication: Maintain constant communication with the Canvassing Manager and team leaders regarding traffic updates, location changes, and weather conditions.
Vehicle Care & Safety Compliance:
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily safety checks of the company van (checking fluids, tire pressure, brakes, and lights) before heading out into the field.
- Cleanliness & Presentation: Keep the interior and exterior of the company vehicle clean, organized, and professional at all times.
- Strict Safety Adherence: Operate the company vehicle in full compliance with all local traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations. Safety is our absolute highest priority.
Requirements:
- Driver's License & Record: Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean, safe driving record (no major violations or active points).
- Experience: Prior experience as a professional driver (delivery, shuttle, rideshare, or commercial driving) is highly preferred but not required.
- Navigation Skills: Proficient in using smartphone GPS apps (Google Maps, Waze, etc.) to navigate unfamiliar areas efficiently.
- Reliability & Punctuality: A proven track record of dependability. The team relies on you to start their day on time.
- Interpersonal Skills: A friendly, professional, and positive attitude. You are a key part of keeping the team's energy high as you move them from site to site.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
