Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks with precision and care
- Load and unload freight efficiently using equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Drive route-specific deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company standards
- Manage documentation related to shipments, delivery logs, and route reports accurately
- Maintain communication with dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address any route issues promptly
- Ensure proper securing of loads on different trailer types to prevent damage during transit
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty trucks
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and operating various truck configurations such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Previous delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures across diverse freight types
- Ability to navigate route driving efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Knowledge of freight handling equipment including forklifts is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the truck types operated
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to trucking operations and cargo securement
