Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Paver Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating paving equipment to ensure the efficient and precise laying of asphalt surfaces for various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, construction site safety, and asphalt paving techniques. The Asphalt Paver Operator plays a vital part in delivering high-quality pavement work on time and within specifications, contributing to the successful completion of infrastructure projects.
Duties
- Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy machinery to lay asphalt surfaces according to project plans and safety standards
- Assist with site preparation, including grading and leveling using loaders, excavators, and other construction equipment
- Coordinate with crew members to ensure smooth paving operations and proper material placement
- Perform routine maintenance checks on paving equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Monitor paving quality, thickness, and smoothness, making adjustments as necessary
- Support concrete-related tasks such as concrete mixing, pumping, finishing, and forming when required
- Assist with the installation of rebar and other structural components as needed
- Operate dump trucks and commercial vehicles for material transport around the site
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction sites, heavy equipment operation, and transportation
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pumping, finishing, and forming is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery
- Construction site experience with a focus on paving projects preferred
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent is desirable for driving large vehicles on-site or between locations
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in construction environments
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
