Delivery Driver / Home Delivery & Appliance Setup — 1099 Contractor

Starting Pay: $160 per day, based on experience
Schedule: Typically Monday–Saturday, with Sundays off. Additional Sunday opportunities may occasionally be available. Time-off requests are accepted.

Position Overview
We are seeking dependable and customer-focused delivery professionals to join our home delivery team. This position involves delivering bulky goods and household products from major retailers directly to customers' homes.
Depending on the route and client being served, responsibilities may include basic appliance setup or delivering bulky merchandise to the customer's room of choice.
Typical routes consist of approximately 12–18 stops per day, with additional stops possible during peak periods. Route contents and delivery requirements may vary depending on the client and assigned location.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver household goods, appliances, furniture, electronics, and other bulky merchandise safely to customers' homes.
- Deliver products to the customer's designated room when required.
- Complete basic appliance setup according to company policies and approved procedures.
- Ensure appliances are functioning and operating properly after setup.
- Handle products carefully to prevent damage to merchandise or customers' homes.
- Provide professional, respectful, and courteous customer service.
- Follow assigned routes and scheduled delivery time windows.
- Work efficiently with a delivery partner when applicable.
- Prepare, inspect, and safely operate delivery vehicles.
- Follow all applicable DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Safely move items weighing 75 lbs. or more with assistance, when required.
Basic Appliance & Home Setup
Depending on the product and applicable company policies, basic setup may include:
- Connecting water lines to existing shut-off valves when the valves meet required policy standards.
- Connecting dryer and range cords to appliances.
- Connecting dryers to existing ductwork.
- Removing and reinstalling refrigerator doors when necessary for delivery.
- Connecting natural-gas ranges when permitted by company policy.
- Setting up furniture and large electronics in customers' homes.
Performance Expectations
Key performance metrics include:
- Route completion
- On-time delivery performance
- Customer survey scores
- Safe and careful product handling
- Professional customer service
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Ability to safely operate a box truck.
- Previous box truck, delivery, appliance, moving, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy items with assistance.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
