CISV Columbus is seeking a Lead Cook and Assistant Cook for our 2026 Village Camp — a month-long international program bringing together 11-year-olds from around the world (June 19 – July 16, 2026, Columbus, OH). This is a paid contract position covering approximately 20 weekdays, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.
Your role is straightforward: prepare and serve lunch and prep and stage dinner for 70 people daily. No breakfast, no packed lunches, no serving dinner — and no managing dietary accommodations. We handle the ordering and planning; you bring the skill and the consistency.
Duties
- Prepare and serve lunch daily for 70 people (48 delegates and 22 leaders and staff)
- Prep and stage dinner for handoff to volunteers when ready
- Maintain kitchen safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the day
- Work from established menus with openness to suggestions
- Assist with kitchen inventory as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience cooking for groups of 40 or more
- Strong knowledge of food safety and proper food handling procedures
- ServSafe certified (preferred)
- Positive, adaptable, and culturally sensitive
- Able to work independently and efficiently
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
