Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Master's Level Group Facilitator to lead evening therapeutic groups within our intensive outpatient (IOP) program on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. This is an ideal opportunity for a clinician seeking meaningful part-time work that complements a daytime role, private practice, or graduate teaching schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical counseling techniques, group therapy facilitation, and crisis management, all while fostering a positive, inclusive environment.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings — group facilitation 6:00 PM–9:00 PM, plus one hour of same-evening clinical documentation (4 hours per evening total)
- $200 per evening ($400/week), inclusive of documentation time
- Consistent, predictable schedule with no weekend or on-call requirements
- Opportunity for additional evenings as census grows
Duties
- Facilitate engaging evening group therapy sessions focused on mental health, addiction recovery, dual diagnosis, trauma, grief, and behavioral challenges using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, Seeking Safety, and relapse prevention models.
- Complete all group progress notes during the dedicated documentation hour following each session, ensuring notes are finalized same-evening in the electronic health record.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies promptly and effectively during urgent situations, including safety planning and coordination with higher levels of care when indicated.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in adherence with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Massachusetts state regulations.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team—clinicians, prescribers, case managers, and outside referral sources—to coordinate care and support clients' holistic needs.
- Utilize secure telehealth platforms to deliver remote group sessions when appropriate, ensuring continuity of care across settings.
- Participate in clinical supervision and case consultation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution.
- Active Massachusetts license or license-eligible status: LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, LADC I
- Proven experience facilitating group counseling sessions within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, or psychodynamic therapy.
- Knowledge of crisis management protocols and behavior management techniques across diverse populations.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation standards.
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards, including 42 CFR Part 2 for substance use treatment records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) and/or LADC I or LADC II credentialing.
- Experience working with co-occurring disorders, trauma/PTSD, grief, and addiction.
- Prior telehealth experience and comfort with virtual group facilitation.
