This position combines hands-on transactional work with higher-level financial oversight — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting/Bookkeeping Operations
- Manage all general ledger activity, journal entries, and monthly closings.
- Maintain accounting records for multiple locations, including C-store, fuel, and restaurant divisions.
- Reconcile daily sales, fuel inventories, bank accounts, and credit card deposits.
- Collaborate with AP/AR to ensure vendor payments, purchase orders, and accounts payable efficiency and accuracy.
- Ability to work in multiple business entities and revenue streams within the company, maintaining accuracy and consistency across each operational unit.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist CPA with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop dashboards or reports that give management real-time visibility into performance.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations, including sales tax, fuel tax, and payroll tax.
- Work with external CPA firm on annual tax filings and monthly support.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Utilize accounting and POS integrations to streamline reporting and reduce manual data entry.
- Support software transitions (QuickBooks).
- Leverage S2K accounting software to perform daily book reconciliation, identify discrepancies or inefficiencies and implement process improvements across all business entities and revenue streams.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College experience is a plus but not required for this role
- Experience: 5+ years in accounting, preferably in retail, fuel, hospitality, or multi-entity environments. Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced level knowledge with QuickBooks.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets.
- Familiarity with fuel inventory systems, POS data (e.g., S2K Prime, Verifone, Gilbarco’s Passport, etc.), and integrated reporting tools.
- Other Skills:
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
