Job Title: 6-8 Certified Teacher (Part-Time/Full-Time)
Location: Academic Oasis, Florida
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Overview:
We’re growing—and growing fast! With exciting plans to move into a brand-new location in July, we’re looking for passionate, reliable, and enthusiastic educators to join our expanding team.
If you’re committed to creating a positive, engaging environment for kids, value punctuality, and want to be a part of an already amazing team of educators and staff (who we proudly consider family), we’d love to meet you!
At Academic Oasis, we believe in hands-on learning, creativity, and fostering a love of discovery in every child. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for team members who are excited to grow with us and bring fresh energy and heart to our programs. Join us as we build something truly special together!
Academic Oasis is seeking an innovative, dedicated, and certified 6-8 teacher with at least three years of teaching experience, specifically teaching middle school math, who shares our commitment to fostering a personalized, supportive, and inspiring learning environment. Our teachers are empowered with autonomy, encouraged to be creative in their teaching approaches, and expected to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and families. At Academic Oasis, we prioritize growth through individualized instruction rather than high-stakes testing, and we use innovative progress monitoring techniques to ensure each child’s development. If you are passionate about individualized learning and excited to help shape the lives of young learners, we invite you to join our mission-driven team.
Core Responsibilities:
- Personalized Instruction: Develop and implement creative, differentiated lesson plans that address the diverse needs of each student, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), encouraging growth in both academic skills and emotional intelligence.
- Lesson Planning: Independently design lesson plans that align with Academic Oasis’s mission of individualized, student-centered learning, incorporating feedback to continuously refine your approach and meet the needs of IEPs as needed.
- Progress Monitoring: Utilize innovative assessment tools and methods to regularly evaluate student progress, adapting teaching strategies to support each child’s unique abilities and pace.
- Classroom Autonomy: Take ownership of classroom management and instruction, operating with minimal supervision while adhering to our school’s goals and objectives.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, actively contributing to a positive, supportive, and cooperative school culture.
Qualifications:
- Florida State K-6 Teaching Certification and/or Secondary Teaching Certification (Required)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in personalized or differentiated learning environments
- Adept at innovative teaching methods, differentiated instruction, and emotional intelligence practices
- Strong ability to operate with self-directed autonomy, requiring minimal micromanagement
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a commitment to relationship-building
- Special Education certification a plus
Benefits:
- Life, Health, Vision and Dental Insurance: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Eligible employees may elect to participate in the Company's health, dental, and vision insurance plans following sixty (60) days of continuous employment. Academic Oasis currently contributes fifty percent (50%) of the employee-only premium cost, with the remaining portion paid by the employee through payroll deduction.
- Four-Day Work Week: Enjoy a better work-life balance with Fridays off, allowing you to recharge and spend quality time outside of work.
- Flexible Start Time: Begin your day at 10am, giving you the flexibility to manage your morning routine while ensuring you're fresh and ready to engage with students.
- Additional Income Opportunities: Take advantage of additional hours for income earnings during the school year and summer, allowing for financial growth and development.
- Small, Intimate Environment: Work in a supportive, close-knit community with small class sizes that foster strong relationships with both students and their families, enhancing the overall educational experience.
- Paid Flexible Planning Hour: Benefit from a paid hour for planning lessons and preparing materials, which can be done from home, allowing you to work at your own pace and in an environment that suits you best.
- Impactful Role: Be a part of building a school that serves as an alternative choice for learning, contributing to a transformative educational experience that meets the diverse needs of every child.
