Full Job Description
Sunesis Construction is looking for a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. The Shop Mechanic needs to be able to work on light and heavy trucks. Engine work, emissions, suspension components will all be part of your daily job.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for helping customers and our mechanics, by providing product, and service information while resolving technical issues.
Required experience:
- Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles upon completion of work
- Assist in maintaining a clean shop and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition
- Act as liaison between the field and mechanics.
- Driver's license required, CDL holder preferred
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines.
- Document and update customer records based on interactions
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the evolving products and services
- Repair and preventative maintenance; examine vehicles to determine probable cause of vehicle problem and parts and work required to complete repairs.
- Truck engine maintenance; lube, oil, and filter
- Performs engine performance and wiring diagnostics to isolate performance problem(s) and complete necessary repair(s)
- Position includes the ability to offer input on purchase and replacement of all equipment in the fleet
Qualifications:
- Five years experience in service repair as mechanic
- Computer skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask managing daily work activities of semi-trailer mechanics and support service manager
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Team player winning attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certification is a plus
- Must show up for work - ready to work
