Position Overview
The Membership Relations Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for Chamber members and reports directly to the Executive Director. This highly visible role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective members, coordinating member services, supporting membership recruitment and retention efforts, and enhancing community engagement through events, communications, and outreach initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesMembership Relations & Member Services
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Chamber members, providing exceptional customer service and timely communication.
- Foster strong relationships with current and prospective members to support membership recruitment and retention.
- Manage ChamberMaster membership records, financials, invoicing, and member communications.
- Send personal correspondence to members, including congratulations, condolences, and milestone acknowledgments.
- Gather and organize materials for New Resident Bags.
- Schedule and coordinate Chamber Business of the Day promotions.
- Coordinate mass mailings and member outreach campaigns.
- Collect member feedback, participation data, and engagement metrics to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Administrative & Financial Support
- Organize and maintain invoices, statements, receipts, and financial records.
- Prepare bank deposits and assist with financial tracking.
- Support budgeting processes related to membership programs, events, and outreach efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting through Chamber management software and other systems.
Marketing, Communications & Public Relations
- Develop and implement social media campaigns promoting Chamber programs, events, member benefits, and community initiatives.
- Create engaging content for social media platforms and monitor audience engagement.
- Collaborate on marketing materials highlighting Chamber achievements, events, and membership opportunities.
- Represent the Chamber through public speaking engagements, presentations, and community outreach activities.
Volunteer & Committee Coordination
- Assist in coordinating Chamber committees and programs, including:
- Ambassadors
- Leadership Clinton
- Volunteer Programs
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to advance Chamber initiatives and member engagement.
Event Planning & Community Engagement
- Coordinate and support Chamber events, including:
- Ribbon Cuttings
- Annual Celebration
- 39056 Fair
- Holiday Happening
- Small Business Saturday
- 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways
- Assist with planning, logistics, promotion, and execution of Chamber programs and events.
- Develop partnerships and business development opportunities that strengthen community involvement and Chamber growth.
Qualifications
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet applications, and database management software.
- Experience with social media management, marketing, public relations, or community engagement.
- Knowledge of the City of Clinton and the surrounding area preferred.
- Experience in event planning, volunteer management, or nonprofit/community organizations is highly desirable.
- Ability to confidently engage diverse audiences and represent the Chamber professionally.
- Familiarity with data collection, reporting, and strategic planning processes.
- Experience with fundraising, membership development, or business development is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional member service.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to attend Chamber events, meetings, and community functions, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, members, and community partners.
