Growing injection molding manufacturer is looking for an industry experienced Production Manager. This person will direct the overall production operations ensuring the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. Directs the operations of a plastic injection molding manufacturing facility ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across a12 hour shift. Monitors equipment performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Organize and control release of production order documents to support the production schedule and provide administrative support to the production and planning staff.
Responsibilities
· Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees access four shifts. Carryout supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
· Participates in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
· Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
· Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
· Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
· Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
· Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
· Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
· Prepare and maintain written correspondence.
· Lead root cause analysis and corrective action through problem solving activities with guidance from Managing Director.
· Coordinate schedules for production staff and expedite any shortages.
· Work closely with other departments on various assignments as necessary.
· Direct administrative activities directly related to making products or providing services.
· Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.
· Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objective or procedures .
· Perform personnel functions such as selection training or evaluation.
· Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability of operations.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands on production management experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of plastic processing techniques such as injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion.
· Familiarity with production metrics (OEE, scrap rate, cycle time) and lean manufacturing principles.
· Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications and work orders.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS or ERP systems.
· Available to work 12-hour shift and weekends as needed.
Education
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience in production and operations management plus a minimum of five years progressively responsible related experience; or ten years progressively responsible related experience. Requires a working knowledge of accounting methods and cost control procedures
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
