The Gumbo House originated on January 5, 2006, in a pink house, on 9th and F st. With only a few items on the menu, two brothers, Gustavo and Roberto Del Real, decided to transform their Mexican restaurant into something more unique. Now, 16 years later, the pink house has become a staple of Downtown Anchorage, and the Gumbo House remains as the only Cajun restaurant in Alaska. We pride ourselves not just in our food, but the relationships we create with our customers. We are a family business, and our community is just that, family.
