The Vibe
At GHI Engineers and Surveyors, our data is the bedrock of every project we touch. We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Chief of Survey to lead our surveying division. If you are a licensed professional who loves mentoring a team, optimizing field-to-office workflows, and keeping projects moving accurately and on time, this is your sandbox.
What You’ll Do (The Short Version)
- Lead the Crew: Manage, schedule, and mentor our field crews and office survey technicians to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Oversee the Data: Direct the preparation of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic maps, and subdivision plans.
- Tech Champion: Keep us cutting-edge by overseeing our GPS, robotic total stations, and CAD workflows.
- Client & Project Strategy: Serve as the go-to expert for clients, engineers, and local authorities, scoping out new proposals and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
What You Bring to the Table
- The License: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) registration in Pennsylvania (or the ability to obtain it quickly via comity).
- The Leadership: Proven experience managing survey operations, field crews, and budgets.
- The Toolkit: Deep familiarity with modern survey equipment and software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, data collection software, and GPS systems).
- The Drive: Excellent communication skills, a knack for problem-solving, and a commitment to keeping safety and accuracy paramount.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Autonomy & Impact: You run the show for the survey division—no micromanagement, just the trust and resources to do your best work.
- Collaborative Culture: Work side-by-side with our civil engineering and land development teams on diverse, local projects.
- Growth & Stability: Great compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path to make a lasting impact on our expanding firm.
