Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Facilities & Maintenance Associate to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our facility. This position is primarily responsible for the interior maintenance and upkeep of the building, with occasional outdoor maintenance, as needed. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys staying active, and is committed to providing a clean and safe environment for our members, staff, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Club through daily cleaning and maintenance.
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, and restrooms.
- Perform heavy cleaning tasks as needed.
- Assist with painting, minor repairs, and general building maintenance.
- Organize and maintain maintenance equipment, cleaning supplies, and storage areas.
- Support seasonal building turnover and facility preparation.
- Perform outdoor maintenance as needed, including light groundskeeping, snow removal, salting, and general exterior upkeep.
- Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, including plumbing leaks and repair needs.
- Help prevent insect and rodent infestations by maintaining a clean facility.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safety.
- Dependable, responsible, and a team player.
- Must have reliable transportation
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule:
- September – June: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- July – August: Additional hours available, possible evenings. Summer schedule may vary based on the maintenance needs of the facility.
