Veterinary Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Uptown Paws Veterinary Clinic – Upper East Side, Manhattan
Compensation: $22–26/hour, depending on experience

Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant. This individual will play a key role in daily clinical operations and patient care. You will work directly with veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians to assist in appointments, procedures, and overall clinic upkeep. All team members will receive cross-training in other functional areas to ensure a collaborative, flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and minor procedures
- Perform safe and gentle animal restraint using low-stress handling techniques
- Collect and process lab samples, including fecal, urine, and blood
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment
- Restock medical supplies and prepare exam/treatment areas
- Contribute to accurate medical recordkeeping and patient flow
- Support general clinic operations as needed across departments
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related veterinary support role
- Confidence in animal restraint and handling techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a strong client service mindset
- Reliability, attention to detail, and team collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish
- Familiarity with social media and interest in supporting light content creation
- Fear Free or Low-Stress Handling certification
- Experience using cloud based veterinary practice management software
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $22–26/hour
