Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cosmetology Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various cosmetology disciplines, including hair styling, esthetic treatments, nail care, and barbering, with the ability to effectively teach adult learners. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, delivering comprehensive instruction, and mentoring students to excel in their cosmetology careers. A commitment to professional excellence and a thorough understanding of current industry practices are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans covering topics such as hair coloring, hair extensions, up styling, facials, makeup application, facial waxing, keratin treatments, hair cutting, and styling.
- Teach a wide range of cosmetology skills including haircutting, styling, barbering, nail care, and esthetics.
- Conduct classroom instruction utilizing adult education principles to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their professional development.
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment adhering to health and safety standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and certifications to ensure curriculum relevance and quality education.
- Assist students with practical applications of skills such as facial treatments, makeup application, hair styling, and other aesthetic procedures.
- Engage in continuous lesson planning to enhance instructional methods and student engagement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cosmetology with expertise in hair coloring, hair extensions, nail treatments, facials, facial waxing, hair cutting and styling.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to cosmetology practice is preferred.
- Demonstrated teaching ability with experience in adult education or classroom instruction.
- Familiarity with class management tools and curriculum development for cosmetology programs.
- Certification or licensure in cosmetology required; additional certifications in advanced training are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse adult learners.
- Prior experience with lesson planning and curriculum development is highly desirable.
