Reports to: Director of MEP Services

Objective: The MEP Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and management of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems across a variety of construction projects. This role ensures systems are designed, coordinated, and installed in alignment with project specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
Responsibilities:

Review construction drawings and provide feedback related to constructability, value engineering opportunities, incomplete scope, and dimensional conflicts to proactively identify potential issues.

Develop and review project estimates and budgets, ensuring all MEP/FP components are captured in accordance with plans and specifications.

Communicate with MEP/FP trade partners to ensure accurate and complete bid submissions.

Collaborate with the estimating team to evaluate and select trade partners based on cost, qualifications, and ability to perform the required scope of work.

Participate in pre-mobilization meetings with trade partners to review scope and confirm all project requirements are clearly understood and incorporated.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with MEP/FP trade partner foremen and field teams.

Coordinate with the onsite Superintendent to conduct inspections of installed work and generate detailed quality control reports.

Distribute quality control reports to the Director of MEP Services, Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and relevant trade partners.

Develop and implement remediation plans with trade partners to address nonconforming work, equipment deficiencies, or deviations from project specifications.

Coordinate follow-up inspections with the Superintendent to ensure resolution of nonconformance issues.

Collaborate with MEP/FP trade partners and VDC teams to develop clash-free BIM models when required; schedule and lead coordination meetings throughout the process.

Support system startup and commissioning activities in coordination with project teams and trade partners.

Work closely with commissioning agents to ensure all systems are fully operational and meet design requirements prior to project completion.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry with a focus on MEP/FP systems.

Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, BIM platforms, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
