Position Summary
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing clinical nutrition services to residents in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. This role includes nutritional assessments, care planning, resident counseling, dietary documentation, staff education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
- Review and monitor resident weight changes, lab values, and dietary needs.
- Develop and maintain nutrition-related documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.
- Provide nutritional counseling and education to residents and families.
- Educate and support nursing, dietary, and therapy staff on nutritional best practices.
- Monitor therapeutic diets, supplements, snacks, and nourishments.
- Assist with quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Support the Dietary Services Department in maintaining high-quality resident-centered care.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential in good standing.
- Florida licensure/certification as required.
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Passion for providing exceptional resident care.
- This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
