Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in compliance with clinical protocols.
- Perform phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision to support diagnostic testing and treatment plans.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment notes.
- Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and assist in emergency situations within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient settings or Level I/II trauma centers to deliver comprehensive patient care across specialties like geriatrics, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine.
- Ensure compliance with ICD coding standards for accurate billing and medical documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by sterilizing equipment and managing supplies efficiently.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical office environments with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding.
- Strong background in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings; inpatient or outpatient experience preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR/EHR management tools to document patient data accurately.
- Skilled in phlebotomy techniques, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic life support (BLS).
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including geriatrics.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards and medical records management practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments such as Level I trauma centers or OR settings while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hospital procedures related to intake processes, inpatient care protocols, and emergency response procedures.

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
