Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) AmeriCorps Program is focused on serving the Federal Way community through tutoring students and performing community projects. FWPS AmeriCorps members will tutor in AVID elective classrooms, general content classrooms, and after-school programming.

The position’s objective is to support middle school students’ academic achievement. Members serve in a team dynamic and perform small group and one-on-one academic tutoring under the guidance of the classroom Teacher.

Member Duties:
- Tutor middle school students
- Lead small study groups
- Conduct one-to-one tutoring sessions
- Follow AVID inquiry tutorial process
- Follow Teacher guidance and instruction
- Grade Tutorial Request Forms
- Track Student Data using provided equipment
- Mentor
- General classroom support
- Host after-school homework club
- Participate in team community projects

Qualifications:
- At least 17 or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- US citizen or Legal resident
